I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in 4:43 after having my third child the year before. 5 K in 24:19, 10 K in 53 minutes pregnant. Survived personal training from my lovable but slightly overbearing husband Sasha for more than 8 years!!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break 23:45 in the 5k.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay thin and full of energy.

Not be an embarassment to my family full of world class athletes.

Personal:

Madly in love with Sasha. We have been married since 1996 and have been blessed with seven of the most adorable and talented children : Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia, and Joseph, Jacob, William and Stephen.

All of our children have run in at least one race, including Jacob and William who did it inside the womb. I enjoy various non-running activities such as: baking, sewing, playing organ, piano and flute, painting, and playing with our  vivacious children.

wow..so it's been years since I"ve written in here.

I have a running partner named Shelly Colton..who is awesome and consistent..and smart..and nice to talk to.

I went to a conference this weekend and felt inspired to start blogging again...not so much to log my miles as to reach out to the world a little and do missionary work.

So..anyone reading me interested in knowing more about the mormon church I would love to share with you...we have a lot of unique doctrines.  And for those that know about our church I want to share my testimony that I know that this is God's church on the earth today..restored by the prophet Joseph Smith.  The Book of Mormon is God's word..another testament of Jesus Christ.  I love the gospel of Jesus Christ that we have in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Feel free to ask me questions..I'm really hoping to help some people understand us better.

good run today..baby is only 7 months old but through proper rest and keeping life not too busy I"ve gotten back into pretty good shape pretty fast.

That's something I owe to Sasha..thanks for coaching me honey!!

49:50  Kinda slower today. I was up late last night...blogging actually..and didn't quite get enough sleep.  Very excited though that Matthew is only 7 months old and I can run sub 10 for 5 miles. That is something I haven't been able to do usually until the baby is 10 or so months old..sometimes more.  So I'm looking forward to adding in speed soon and increasing my fitness one step at a time.

So since I"ve been on the blog I"ve had my 7th and 8th children, moved to Orem..my dream house on Palisade Dr.  We have pretty much everything I"ve ever wanted in our family home....I'm not talking fancy but functional..big dining room..compact kitchen...room to play..etc.

Getting excited about things for homeschool this fall. I'm going to teach 3 cooking classes for my children..one for the little ones, medium ones and big ones..and invite friends..I always am more organized and more cheerful when friends are involved.

happy day to you all!

You've got to love it when those cooking lessons can double for math lessons! Nice job on your run. :-)

49:47  Felt so good at the start of the run today..more like I was swimming instead of running. My legs felt light and strong..the air was cool and soft like water.

Had some good mom moments today..like when I took time to do a stand with William. He has been trying to sell things at stands pretty much every day this summer.  I think the neighbors aren't buying anymore because we didn't even have people glancing our way.  He is very entertaining. He was saying things like, "well, maybe there is someone out there with too much money that they are trying to get rid of. Maybe they will come to our stand."

We have an exchange student from Latvia staying with us right now. She is very sweet but loves to be on the computer so I didn't get to blog this morning.  I'm still getting into the habit.

It is so nice to be blogging again. It makes me feel like I'm back in those early blog days with 5 little kids...life was hard but good.

overall time got a little bit messed up but ran the last half in 23:03..that is a good time for me! I tried picking it up to 9 min pace the last half and kept it up until my lovely hill right before I get home..but I didn't slow down on the hill as much as normal. Wore the heart rate monitor. When I was starting out ..9:30 9:40 ish pace I was at 135...on the way back it was 145 and on the hill 150...

Read a little from the book of Genisis and the blessings of land and family the lord promised Abraham.then Abram.  I feel the Lord has given us good things this past year.  We are thinking of adding on to the home this next year...and believe it or not after a somewhat tough recovery with Matthew I am already baby hungry....

Whenever I've been really baby hungry in the past it usually means I'm in for a wait....it's when I'm not even really thinking about the next baby that they are born close together....

Our take on planned parenting is that we plan to be parents and let the children come..and they have....and they are beautiful smart and wonderful children.

I love that attitude on parenting. A very good one. Thanks for the scripture reminder. I should shut off the computer and do something more "productive" - for my soul at least.

Nice job on the run, not slowing on that hill to your house is NOT easy!

49:40

Just trying to get under 50  every day...amazing how the month has slipped by and I've hardly blogged..despite my best intentions.  I'm trying to not get on the computer during the day very much so I can have more time to clean and spend with my kids..it's been working..ive done more with them and my house is cleaner..but I haven't blogged for awhile.

Ran with a lady in my ward named Jessica and we talked about the shift towards socialism in our country.  I let her borrow an interesting documetary called Agenda that really helps people see how and why this is happening.

Starting to get into shape..the time trials I've done over the past few weeks are paying off...even though I got to bed late last night..  Sasha ran into a bag of food storage with the car last night and then he actually stuck the pile of oats outside..?????? ok..so at 11:30 we had to go outside and clean up the oats before they were scattered ALL over the place in the morning...

my time was 48:07 and that was feeling a little tired

In other news..I lost my wonderful running partner to injury...I have no idea if we will ever be ever to run again and it is so sad. She was the best running partner a person could ask for ..great friend...luckily we have other things we do together like a singing group and mom's nights out so I'll see her but it is not the same at all.

had a few tough days last week and had to cut the mileage..feeling almost back to normal today ran in 48:49..we will see what tomorrow brings.

My long term goal right now is to be able to run with my kids on their easy runs at like 830 9 ish pace..as part of my normal workout. I was in shape to run like that about 11 years ago...since it isn't that fast I'm hoping I can get back to it before the next baby.

47:55 for the whole run ..not too bad of a time considering I've had a little cold this week and then have had some trouble sleeping bc I"m not running enough..grr..

So today I did a faster mile to shake things up..8:36..and did a few sprints

it felt a lot easier than i thought it would so that was nice
