Running Accomplishments:

I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in 4:43 after having my third child the year before. 5 K in 24:19, 10 K in 53 minutes pregnant. Survived personal training from my lovable but slightly overbearing husband Sasha for more than 8 years!!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break 23:45 in the 5k.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay thin and full of energy.

Not be an embarassment to my family full of world class athletes.

Personal:

Madly in love with Sasha. We have been married since 1996 and have been blessed with seven of the most adorable and talented children : Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia, and Joseph, Jacob, William and Stephen.

All of our children have run in at least one race, including Jacob and William who did it inside the womb. I enjoy various non-running activities such as: baking, sewing, playing organ, piano and flute, painting, and playing with our  vivacious children.

I may try to get another mile in when Sasha comes home but for now everyone is awake and I am feeling 9 months pregnant and really unmotivated. The baby's head is down and when he was sideways that was pretty uncomfortable but that little head on your bladder running opens up a whole new world of discomfort.

Oh, yes, all of us women get that! But, listen to you! You are willing to go out and run another mile. You just keep on going! I bet you are the most fit pregnant woman out there.

I am one tough cookie...but it's all for the love of my kids...I just want to be healthy so I can be the best mom I can.

I was going to write about this pregnant lady I'd heard about and met at a race on Saturday. She is 1 month behind me and looked like she was about 3 months along. She finished a 5k pushing a double stroller and I don't know her time but from talking to her (She's Michelle Lowry's level) I'm guessing she probably got sub 30 still. Now I'm not knocking what I do because I do my best but that is truly amazing!

Okay...curiosity got me and Sasha just looked her time up...24:50...29 weeks pregnant pushing a double stroller on a hilly course!!!! My best time in a 5k is 24:15 ( I was actually pregnant too but just barely and not feeling it yet...) Sasha is looking up her normal 5k time...probably 16-17 minutes. Her sister told me she was 3rd in the nation in high school. Her name is Jennifer Hughes.

Jennifer Hughes has nothing on you my dear! ;) Her race is AWESOME! Gaullie (Gomer Pile), I hope Sasha doesn't change the VP rating! I'll be VP FOEVER :)

Good luck with the baby head down! That is not a very comfortable way to hang out for the next little bit. Keep smiling :D My husband asked once what that felt like. I said it felt like someone kicked me in the crotch with a cowboy boot and left the boot. Sorry for that somewhat vile description, but I think he understood.

Marion, great description! I always just felt like the baby was gonna fall write out of me---literally!

Okay, so that pregnant lady is amazing, but so are you!

Sasha asked me at the beginning of this pregnancy innocently what it felt like to be kicked by the baby. I told him I'd let him experience it with me by giving him a nice quick low (not too low mind you) every time the baby kicks to help him have empathy pains. So often at dinner I'll be punching him in the stomach and we all bust up laughing.

I don't mind Jennifer being faster than me..if I did I'd be into pain...I'm not..I like comfort way too much and am happy that I am who I am...thanks though..you guys are great friends.

You just said it!! COMFORT---I do not like pain, which is why I will never be super fast. I am fast enough just how I am!

So true SArah- we CAN'T mind others being faster than us, or we couldn't do this at all. We- you especially, are AMAZING just the way we are :D
