Running Accomplishments:

I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in 4:43 after having my third child the year before. 5 K in 24:19, 10 K in 53 minutes pregnant. Survived personal training from my lovable but slightly overbearing husband Sasha for more than 8 years!!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break 23:45 in the 5k.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay thin and full of energy.

Not be an embarassment to my family full of world class athletes.

Personal:

Madly in love with Sasha. We have been married since 1996 and have been blessed with seven of the most adorable and talented children : Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia, and Joseph, Jacob, William and Stephen.

All of our children have run in at least one race, including Jacob and William who did it inside the womb. I enjoy various non-running activities such as: baking, sewing, playing organ, piano and flute, painting, and playing with our  vivacious children.

Army Runner's wife Elizabeth and I ran a race together in Payson. I had a lot of fun and she ran a great time. Then we drove the Alpine Loop and stopped for a hike and some more miles. The path we ran on was very rocky....I tripped three times and completely fell once but besides that I LOVED being in that sweet mountain air. Next time I want a treat forget baking cookies....I'm going on a hike...I think I'm addicted now...I don't remember ever being so excited about mountain air but this was a beautiful and refreshing day.

Sasha came home and said, "I broke a record today" I said, "I did too." I ran 5 miles witha baby jogger...which is something I've never actually had to do before..amazing enough...I got worn out at the end and had to walk the hills but besides that it was fine. Sasha is getting into great shape which is exciting.

I felt like I went fairly fast the first half..probably 10 minute mile pace but then slowed down just a little at the end.

Not sure if the run was exactly five today. I ran right into a thunderstorm and turned around early...scary and wet.

Felt good ran nice and easy picked it up a little bit for a mile or so and then felt a little tired at the end and slowed down. Sasha says we can stay with Mik'L's mom in St. George...thank you thank you...looks like the whole family is coming...it should be fun...exhausting but fun

I felt stronger today than I have all week. I didn't feel like timing it quite yet though...got to get where I am not going to push myself too hard if I have the watch on. I met a friend on the trail that has  a new dog that is dragging her through her runs at 8:00 min mile pace...poor thing was worn out. I can't believe it's already fall....my arms got cold on my run...weird after all those hot and sweaty runs lately.

One more week and it's officially a habit...or is that 21 days and it's a habit..well..I think 6 days a week of 5 miles a day counts. I am handling it well except that I can't run quite as fast as I want. I'm trying to just listen to my body. Sometimes I think I'm doing pretty well and then when I'm tired I slow down and take it easy...I just wish I didn't have to slow down but I can't wear myself out on my runs. I have no time for naps when I get home and need to be a little energizer bunny to make it cheerfully through my day.
