I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in 4:43 after having my third child the year before. 5 K in 24:19, 10 K in 53 minutes pregnant. Survived personal training from my lovable but slightly overbearing husband Sasha for more than 8 years!!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break 23:45 in the 5k.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay thin and full of energy.

Not be an embarassment to my family full of world class athletes.

Personal:

Madly in love with Sasha. We have been married since 1996 and have been blessed with seven of the most adorable and talented children : Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia, and Joseph, Jacob, William and Stephen.

All of our children have run in at least one race, including Jacob and William who did it inside the womb. I enjoy various non-running activities such as: baking, sewing, playing organ, piano and flute, painting, and playing with our  vivacious children.

Some of my ligaments felt weird today and I just had a general feeling I was pushing it when I shouldn't be..can't describe it exactly..well I could but I don't want to on my blog. I'm sure I can describe it in satisfaction to my coach er...husband and he will look mystified by the complex nature of a pregnant woman's body and agree with me on everything I say.

I still feel okay so I'm off to Hobblecreek to cheer everyone on...just no more running I think today.

It was SO nice to meet beautiful you and your darling kids today. What a fun way to spend my saturday morning- great new friends (some really fast ones, too :) If you can at all make it, please come down for Onion DAys! Breakfast will be yummy :) Oh and the race will be fun too ;)

I need to get back to my plum jam. I LOVE canning! Strange I know, but there is something about lining all of those jars up that makes me feel like I have done something!!

Thanks for coming! I was so excited to meet you and your adorable kids. I hope they behaved for you!

It was fabulous to meet you both. When Sasha started the blog 3 years ago or so I said, "I think you have something there Honey." Well now that it's growing and has brought so much joy to us and hopefully speed and joy to others we do feel like we have something great. Thanks for being part of it and making it more fun for me.

Marion: You are gorgeous! And... I am in AWE of anyone who likes to can. I can't stand it and feel like a failure as a Mormon woman in that dept. For years (especially when we were crazy crazy healthy and were borderline RAW nutty nuts I convinced myself that it was okay not to can because it killed all the nutrients anyway.

Kelly: I told Sasha all about your husbands huge biceps and how he was so gorgeous and kind of the strong silent type. He didn't even crack a smile when I told him what I thought was a joke and just gave me that very manly "I know I'm a hunk and so strong " look and maybe a soft manly grunt too.

We can work on his biceps!! Men and their grunting!

Like I said, he is not built like a runner--those muscles have gotten him into big trouble the longer the race gets!

About canning---I refuse to be a good Mormon mom and wife and do it! My mom sure tries to get me to join the family canning sessions, but I just bribe her to give my some by cleaning her house or weeding---stuff I can do! And I babysit my sister's kids for freezer jam. It all work out--we each have our strengths, right?!?

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE DAY, I better get crackin' on my YW lesson or I am gonna get FIRED!

For a long time nobody whould eat what I canned! The slobs!! So now I just make a bunch of sauces that I can throw over meat in the crock pot. I tried canning all of the "good mormon" stuff and it just sat for years, rotting and irritating me! Now, I can BBq sauce (my hubbies secret recipe), peach chutney, plum sauce, salsa, freezer jams & raspberry syrup. TONS of sugar so all of the would-be nutrients are totally lost amongst the sucross!! :D Oooh and if the neighbors have a good apple year I make TONS of sugar free apple sauce. That suff ROCKS and is super fast and easy!!! I'll teach you sarah, if you ever get a windfall of apples. You can do about 40-50 quarts in less than a day.

One of my friend's husband used to kind of nod at me on the trail and not smile or anything. I said something to her about it and then the very next time I saw him he came up from behind me, slowed down, waved enthusiatically, smiled and said loudly, "Hi Sarah!" I was so embarrassed.

Marion you are killing me with the canning. I'll bet you did it nine months pregnant. EVERYONE who cans does it nine months pregnant...I can't take it...I think I'll learn to like it one day...but I have to get over the Texas Barbeque Jam incident first. I'll give you details later in one of my blog entries...back to canning for you. :)
